The 3rd Annual Central Valley Watermelon Tasting on Sat, July 18th, 2026, 9 am - 3 pm in Fresno, CA.
The inaugural Central Valley Watermelon Tasting featured 14 melon varieties, of seeded and seedless red and yellow meat sweet, juicy and delicious watermelons, cantaloupe and honeydew. attracted over 500 attendees, and in its second year tripled attendance to more than 1,500 visitors from nine counties.
The event has grown from a local idea into a recognized community celebration, earning a proclamation from the Mayor of Fresno in 2025 designating the third Saturday of July as Official Central Valley Watermelon Tasting Day. The CVWT is a way develop community partnerships, introduce the community to local farmers, education of the nutrient dense quality of melons and pathways in agriculture.
